Personality://
Basil is a fairly subdued shade of green. Basically a very easygoing guy, he is the type to live-and-let-go on account of being quite unable to hold a grudge. So while he'll occasionally get irritated, or even angry, it won't be for long. When he fights, it's either an impulsive decision or, if he's actually planning to do so, a calculated risk. In any case, Basil shrugs off negativity like water off a duck's back. Similarly, if he ever sulks, he'll look for a place to be alone and wait for the mood to pass.

Basil is rather amiable, though a bit of flirt; his compliments are sincere but his intentions aren't serious. He doesn't like conflict but won't hesitate to fight back if seriously threatened. ~~hishaircough~~

Background://
Basil was born in but grew up outside of Colorland. When he just figured out how to walk, his parents took him overseas for a weekend vacation. On a boating excursion, they disappeared during a surprise squall. They are presumed dead. Basil was raised by his godparent, who also had been in the area and was asked to baby-sit him at the time. After his parents were officially presumed dead, it was discovered that his godparent had been named Basil's guardian in their will.

Basil grew up in New York City (borough unspecified), where his guardian was a university English professor at one of the city's many colleges. Despite not being blood-related, his guardian and he share a deep parent-child relationship.

He only vaguely remembers CL, so it was goal of his to go back to find out more about his family. His guardian supported his decision, under the condition that Basil first graduated high school, keeping a steady part-time job until he did so. After graduation, he took a year off to work full-time at the bar he had been working at.

Now Basil has moved back to Colorland and applied for UC. He hopes to find out more about his family but right now, he's busy settling in.

- Mauve: started off with what could have been the worst first impression ever, which involved a hair-yanking altercation and what will probably be a running gag between them; conceded defeat with respect, but considers the whole incident with amusement.

- Crimson: Aa, kinda bristling; reminiscent of a friend. doesn't know what to make of him yet but hopes to be friends.
- Choco: initially thought she was just shy, cute girl; was delighted to be corrected. Fun, too~

- Due to a childhood filled with literature and plays (his guardian would not suffer any uncultivated illiterates) and a stint in his high school's theater club, Basil's speaking patterns vary from grammatically correct and polite to informal and willfully butchered.
- His part-time job: a bartender since he turned 18. Too young to (legally) drink, but old enough to mix 'em. He didn't think he'd be able to continue it in CL, but thanks to Kearin, Basil now has a job.
- Prior to moving to CL, he's been close friends with Naja since he was 14.
- Makes a good cup of coffee or milk tea; learned from Naja.
- Cutest thing he's ever seen: headbutting pygmy seahorses in a nature documentary.
