leaving complexes
Memories lost
or simply never stored

History
Distorting the mind
Distorting the truth
Leaving me numb
Sick in the head
Sentencing me
to a life full of doubt
to a life devoid
of love
of truth
of honesty
loyalty
trust in your fellow man

Patriotism
Fallacy
Devoid of actual feeling
the loyalty to a distraction
to a piece of land
to dirt
not to human kind
not to acceptance of man
but a distrust
to those who don't share your land
who don't share your face
who don't share the same toothpaste
cold syrup
breakfast cereal
THEY become strangers
aliens
terrorists
untouchables
never to be trusted
devoid of love
of hope
of complete integration
as strangers can never be integrated


Extremes
Feast or Famine
Manic or Depressive
Hate or Love
Truth or Lies
Death or Life
Black or White
NO GRAY AREAS
I'm not the golden girl
not the winner
the everready smile
the shoulder to cry on
I am the one huddling in the corner
the one screaming for release
denied
lusting for a normal life
but detesting where it has gotten me

Sick
The swollen feeling in my stomach
the pounding in my head
the doubt gnawing in my spine
my sore limbs groping for salvation
my bloodshot eyes
my detested tongue, the liar
my hated hands, the thieves
that take away my happiness
that lose me any feeling

Control
Shove it down
Make myself happy any way I can
for loss
will never truly be gone
and hope
will never truly be real
for we know
where life will eventually leave us
and truth
will never actually be proven
for opinion is stronger
human nature will prevail
and we will never integrate
we will never be truly happy
the prozac boys and girls
have the right idea
in that
life is relative
dealing is the only way to get through
interest is stronger than fact
and lust
is the strongest thing you can have
lust for strength
lust for happiness
lust for a life worth living
a life worth moving past the gray
and seeing color
and not shying away from the world
and not shying away from control
and not blinding yourself from sorrow
for that's all that we can do
For as far as I know
that's the only truth.
