About me
Is a retro anime fan who bit the MangaBullet
I'm a dreamer, a hopeless romantic and a procrastinator (though I'm trying to change that). I'm a struggling writer, a fledgling artist and a fan of all things bright and beautiful. I can be a know-it-all and a pompous a$$ at times, but I try hard not to be. I'm happiest when I'm in the company of people I love... or with a good book. Chocolates rock.

Manga: Saint Young Men
Posted on 27th May at 10:42 PMI had heard of the manga "Saint Young Men" from my friend Yvie, as well as via the feeds of Anime News Network. I normally don't read or watch stuff that has something to do with religion (mostly because I find it boring) but I decided to give this a go.
"Saint Young Men" is about Jesus and Buddha taking a vacation from their "jobs" and decided to spend it in Japan. They share an apartment and go about their days living like ordinary young men (though in many cases, they retain their powers).
The manga doesn't tackle religious issues (which would definitely spark some controversy), nor does it try to say anything about either religion. If you remember Joan Osborne's song "What if God was one of us?" this manga goes along that line.
It's full of one liners, funny quips and random moments that you can't help but laugh out loud at. Think of this: Jesus is a popular blogger who reviews TV dramas, Buddha wants to be a mangaka, and both of them wish that people would depict them a little more positively than how they do now.
I take this with a grain of salt and just enjoy it.

Right back at you~!
Hello.
Thank you for adding me.
Thank you for adding me.
No problem! Hope you have fun here
You're welcome! It was excellent!
Heh, I'm with you on the anime fan since LONG, LONG before Sailor Moon.... Mine was 1978 and an obsession with some bootlegged Captain Harlock my dad brought home unknowingly on grainy video tape! *Swoon* (He thought, hey it's a cartoon my kid will like it.) It was just four mismatched episodes fan subbed somebody brought into my dad's Video store where he worked. VCRs were brand new technology and my Dad worked in a HiFi store who jumped on the VCR Bandwagon. He (Captain Harlock) became my First crush and my awakening that there were more "Cartoons" out there beyond Disney's Bambi, Cinderella & Dumbo. LOL
Haha, wow. Now that's old school!
:'O W-wah...flattering much! Thank you! ;-; It really isn't much, but I AM quite stunned at how many people joined so quickly. I knew Hana-Kimi was popular, but to be SO popular so quickly!
Haha, and it'll continue to grow, so don't worry
