although my art style is generally describable as "cute" i love the realistic and gritty aspects of manga and fandom. a lot of what i do to expand into such "realistic and gritty" styles is fanwork and comes from my fandoms. this is what you'll see here and is my reason for being a member of this online community. i truly hope that you enjoy.

my username, parasitic-ambiance, comes from my good friend Sissalady. it's inspired by Mello's "parasitic" qualities that make him just plain irresistible. my pseudonym Mistletoe Hirudinea is an extension of the concept of parasitism: the mistletoe plant attaches to other trees and shrubs and saps their water and nutrients, despite being regarded as pretty and a symbol of love, peace, immortality, and good fortune; Hirudinea is the name of the subclass of Annelids to which leeches belong, commonly recognized as parasites that suck blood, though most feed on small invertebrates swallowed whole.

Hi there, to anyone who may be reading this. Might not be many since I haven't shown my face here too much lately, but I do check here frequently.

Some of you may know that a couple years ago, I decided that I wanted to direct my education toward a Bachelor's of Fine Arts with a major in Fashion Design. At the time, I was working toward an Associate's Degree with a major in Fine Art, which I have since achieved. In the mean time, I have been working a retail job at the mall between 8.5 and 25 hours a week (occasionally as many as 30 hours) with many 8- or 8.5 hour days and now a couple 12-hour and 9-hour days. Despite my desire to run a retail shop and make clothes, I don't feel that this has been a very educational experience, but it has helped me to pay for my own food, clothing, and sewing/craft/art supplies. In addition, I've been doing portfolio work and have applied to 3 schools with high-ranking BFA fashion programs, 2 of which I've now been accepted into and the 3rd I'm still waiting on a reply from. I am also still awaiting information about their merit scholarships, as it may help me determine my choice.
