Welcome back! The RE-Opening of MangaBullet Academy!
Posted by red on 13th Jun '10
Welcome!
I am happy to announce the reopening of MangaBullet Academy! In light of MangaBullet’s second anniversary, the club system has been revamped so that all students and staff may enjoy what the Academy has to offer!
We’d like to really emphasize the Academy’s goal to promote artistic creativity in all categories of art. Therefore, we’re expanding forum assignments and allowing everyone to access our resources! But we need some help too to keep this club active and fun!
Bulletin
= Teachers are wanted! More information towards the bottom!
= red will be on hiatus during the months of June and July. Two very capable members are wanted for being moderators. He’ll make it worth your while emeb!!! Read his journal for more information.
The following guidelines serve to help introduce the new Academy club system. It targets for everyone to be more active not only artistically but also in the community! Please take a read and enjoy!
Welcome
Welcome new student!
= Make an MBA ID Card! It’s really easy to make! Submit it to the club once you’re done!
=Check out the Student Quarters and introduce yourself!
=There are other resources in the forums for you to use as well!
Rules
-Follow MangaBullet's
Terms of Service and
Submission Policy at all times especially in the forums.
-Assignments posted have to be appropriate or else subject to removal with consequences.
Point System
MangaBullet Academy has also changed its point system. It will now only reward participation. Bonus points can be given by teachers but if you simply participate in every single assignment posted by a teacher, you’re guaranteed points! Students who earned points in the past will retain their points but for now, all students have a clean slate. Points will be recorded for a total score by moderators but will only be done probably by the end of the month. Read the
Points blog for more information on class rank and points!
Assignments
MangaBullet Academy’s forums used to be only limited to teachers. Now it’s open to everyone and anyone that wants to share a fun assignment to help ease an art block or just have fun!
We ONLY accept:
- Memes
- Assignments as in projects targeting a specific element of art such as anatomy, colour, poses, etc.
- Fun projects: Yes, if you have projects you want to advertise go for it. Provide a link to the project!
- Articles/Tutorials: if you have advice you would like to share that helps improve your art, plug them in forums.
- If you want to CHAT, use the
Student Quarters thread please.
Completing Assignments
=Students must provide a link of their completed assignment as a comment in the thread. Once done, you’ve earned yourself a participation point!
=Student assignments/projects do not reward points.
=For more information, read the

Looking for New Teachers
For the new school year, we’re accepting ten teachers who must accept the following guidelines or else they will be relieved from their duties and be removed from the club. If there’s any reason you wish to stop being a teacher at any point, please contact the moderators for assistance so that we may find a replacement!
Guidelines:
- Must have an MBA ID card. Put this at the top of every assignment you post!
- Post assignments/projects at least once every two weeks. You are unlimited in how many assignments you choose to post each week but don’t overdo it.
- There are no deadlines to assignments and the assignment will remain open to everyone once posted. Make sure it’s appropriate, creative, fun and the instructions are clear. If for any reason the moderators find it inappropriate you may be asked to remove or revise your assignment.
- You have to look at the assignments to ensure they actually did the assignment and are not just plugging in a random drawing. If you find the student did not do what was required, you can VOID the assignment until they actually completed it.
- You must treat everyone with respect. Obey the Terms of Service. All rules apply here. Report any misconduct to the community moderators or the club moderators.
- Members who participate in your assignments will automatically get participation points. You can set how many participation points you want to reward each person for his/her participation. This point reward only works once for each person so no matter how many times the person participates, they only get the points once. The maximum point amount is 10 pts.
- You may reward bonus points to any students you feel did above and beyond what the assignment required or you find they showed improvement and/or expertise in their art. Bonus points may only amount to one point. To award bonus points, you have to reply to the student comment saying something like “Congrats, you are rewarded the
bonus point! Keep it up!” Please use the icon so we know for sure you’re rewarding bonus points.
- On request, not very often though, you’ll be notified by a moderator to list all the names of the people who participated in each of your assignment posts. Keep a record of this in a .doc file for yourself and future reference. Do so by listing your assignment name and the names of each student who participated.
- Teachers are required to give some level of critique. You don’t have to do it with everyone but try to comment sometimes.
If you’re interested, please NOTE
red ASAP before the 15th! Thanks!
