The Diclonius, a new breed of humans, are said to have been selected by God to destroy all of mankind. They are not hard to identify, as they have two horns in their heads. They also possess a sixth sense, allowing them to use telekinesis, or "vectors." Lucy, one of the captured Diclonius, managed to escape the laboratory while killing most of the guards. However, she was shot in the head and fell into the ocean. She managed to survive and was found by two people, named Kouta and Yuka, at the beach. Unable to recall what had happened nor being able to communicate properly, Lucy was named "Nyuu" by the two, which was the only word she could say. However, the murderous Lucy did not fully disappear. The shot made her develop a split personality: the cute and innocent Nyuu, and the evil murderous Lucy. [less]
