Yuuji Sakai, a high school student, expected that his normal life to last forever. Unfortunately, while his was walking home, the world suddenly freezes in time. Yuuji watches in horror as people were being engulfed by blue flames. A monster resembling a large doll then appears and begins to suck up the flames into its mouth. As the monster prepares itself to consume Yuuji, a girl with flaming red hair and eyes wielding a sword saves him. After defeating the monster, Yuuji notices a blue flame in his chest. The girl, who calls herself a "Flame Haze" informs him that the "real" Yuuji no longer exists and he is now a "Torch," a temporary replacement for erased humans. Despite knowing this, Yuuji befriends the girl and joins her fight against Tomogara and other Flame Hazes. [less]
