I Saw A Snail Climbing
Posted on 20th Mar at 4:14 AMSo yeah, there's a grassy area outside where I live and I saw this particularly large snail climbing a shrub trunk, eating rotten leaves. What is the message of this sight?
I've never seen a snail climbing.
Of course, by extension, this means if there are things we've never seen or expect before, it doesn't means it is not possible. To try ideas out with courage, knowing the fear of failure. Hey, there's a lesson in everything if you look at things hard enough. Like the King of the Cosmos once said, Earth is filled with things. Too many things in our worlds.
Our worlds can be really huge, or it can be as small as the office and the four walls of your room you spent your time in. Sometimes you just gotta ask yourself: do I want to expand my horizons? How big is the world outside these little preset boundaries of mine? Doing so can save yourself all the trouble of complaining about your job during lunch or dinner. You know, after all, all of us have... goals.
*cue ooohs*
We have to our own decisions and goals. How long are we staying in the well, just to get enough experience to jump up to the skies? Everyone has set their own limits to this; just never lose sight of your overall goals. Goals can be really grand things, such as:
- I want to be a world-famous illustrator
- I want to win the challenge contests at CGTalk
- I want to be able to meet <insert famous character designer> and shake hands with him
- I want to open an animation studio
Goals, too, can be really simple if you think about it. How so?
- I want to live a comfortable life, in <insert desired country and location>
- I want to have enough cash to finance my lifestyle
- I want to eat good food occasionally
When people are asked about their goals, it's usually the big, impossible and complex ones. We all have simple but not necessarily small goals as well. Even "small" goals are goals; don't regard them just because they don't turn enough heads during our gathering of friends. No matter how small the steps you are making, appreciate them and you'll better your grand goal much better. The journey will be much more worth your while.
That snail may have ate some rotten leaves, but hey, it too has a grand goal of survival. Goals are just so important, they're found in just everything.
What are your grand goals? What are your simple goals? The answer is right there... inside you.

Hey bernie! : D Thanks for joining Writers' Block! Hope you find it suitable for your writing urges, but if not, feel free to suggest for any improvements! Also, currently the club is running its third contest~the Love Contest! Now don't be overthrown by the title just because it says love, in case you're not those romance-type writers, it does not necessarily have to center love. ;D Check it out!
