Bandai Announces details on Licenses

Bandai talked about their plans for Mobile Suit Gundam 00 and Gurren Lagann. Gurren Langann airs on Sci-Fi starting in July with two episodes to air each week. Gundam will follow the same format but will start in November. Bandai also went to announce the cast for Gurren Langann having Yuri Lowenthal and Kyle Hebert play Simon and Kamina (respectively) and Michelle Ruff voice Yoko.

Bandai announced that they will release the four-disk Blu-Ray boxset of Freedom! on their Honneamise label with the theatrical release of Gainax's Gunbuster vs Diebuster Aim for the Top! The GATTAI!! Movie (the combination of Gainax's Gunbuster and Gunbuster 2 OAV series). The standard DVD set of Freedom! will come in 2009.

Finally, he licenses for Hayate the Combat Butler (Hayate no Gotoku) anime series and the TokiKake manga series have both been obtained by Bandai Entertainment. Hayate the Combat Butler centers around Hayate acting as a butler and more to Nagi in order to pay a hefty debt. The TokiKake manga series is based of the recent Girl Who Leapt Through Time film.

The only thing that shocked me was the Hayate the Combat Butler announcement. I thought that was Viz's for sure.

I wouldn't watch Gurren Laggan if it weren't being shown on TV... but since it is, I'll check it out. I'll also check out some of the earlier Gundam series, like Gundam Wing, before watching 00 when that comes on.
