Funimation aquires 50 + titles

FUNimation announced on Thursday that they signed an agreement with Geneon to distribute select titles in the North America including Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, Kamichu, Fate/Stay Night, and The Familiar of Zero (Zero no Tsukaima). FUNimation also announced that they picked up over 30 titles from AD Vision including Air Gear, Ah! My Goddess : Flight of Fancy, and Devil May Cry.

When asked about the AD Vision acquisitions, FUNimation's CEO and President Gen Fukunaga said, “We are very enthusiastic about these titles[.] Not only are these excellent series, but they also fuel FUNimation's major initiatives in social networking, the FUNimation Channel and internet VOD [Video On Demand]. These new titles cement FUNimation as the leading anime provider for television broadcast and legitimate online content. These shows allow us to increasingly provide the best anime to our fans on their own terms.”

Actually, I made a mistake-they ARE licensing Hellsing Ultimate!

...FUNimation Entertainment has...signed a deal with Geneon Entertainment to manufacture, sell, and distribute "select" DVD titles in North America. Those titles include...Hellsing Ultimate...

Yea I found that I as well from a friend of mine here, it's seems that there are two lists and we only seen only one of them and not also the other.

But yea I agree HELLSING! WOOOOOOOOT!!!

I just hope that Funmation will try and keep all the same voice actors, we don't want a problem like in Saiyuki and Saiyuki: Reload. XD

When Genon dropped Hellsing Ultimate, they had a clause in their agreement to keep the original voice actors when the series was picked up again. ^_^ No problems, kyu!

I heard Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch was licensed , but its not on the list T.T I hope its been omitted by accident, I have been waiting forever for it to finally get licensed or at least have the second season subbed (smiley)

Yeah I heard about this, I'm glad that they're getting Higurashi but it's going to take some time to get used to seeing "When They Cry" as the main title for it. (smiley)
