Would you have any general advice on how to paint scenery like this? I've been trying, but it never has the effect I want. How to get it so soft, like you do here.
Ee, I think first it's good to just make a base colorscheme, like here the white-yellow-blue-darkblue gradient-ish background. And then work from there.
Also not being afraid to use several sorts of brushes, with different settings and opacity. Texturised brushes especially can make painting clouds, rocks, trees etc much easier.
And work big, 300dpi+. Also, use eyedrop alot.. like in the grass I have shaded with the blue of the background color, there's blue and yellow in the clouds. Stuff further away blend in more.
Working in shapes and refining as you go is also fun.
Well at least those are the things I keep in mind so far, and I'll keep learning. Looking at photographs, others paintings and real life helps. (when I go out.. I think 'how could I paint that' 'what shade is that' etc lol /geek)
I hope any of that made any sense at all. I'm not good at explaining. Maybe next time I can record it when I draw..?
