Well, the plan was for her to be colored once she got there...or here rather. Like, being black and white was her past, but being colored by the coloring book club members would be her future. So you are writing her story!!!! So don't d'oh yourself!!! (smiley)

Yes, that's true. Sadly, a lot of users just click on whatever pretty picture they see and comment impulsively.
(It's sometimes irritating especially if they do/ask something whereas it's actually written in the Artist's Description / Comment Area. ^^;)

Haha! Still, though, no matter how long it is .. If you\'re genuinely interested, you would have at least peeked through half of it (But eventually read the whole darn thing anyway. xDD)

Okay, well, this is my entry for the Coloring Book Club's mascot-contest majig. Her name is Maya...the contest suggests that we supply a little background on each potential mascot we enter into the contest, so now I'll do just that. ^^;

"This piece of artwork's name is Maya. She's a black and white drawing of an artist, created by an artist.

When the artist finished inking her, he put her aside in order to move on to bigger, greater projects, and, although he had initially planned to, never even bothered to give her color. Feeling neglected and disappointed, Maya resolved to become an even greater artist than the man who had created her. She didn't need color, and she didn't need that artist in order to be 'complete.'

For an untold number of months (Or maybe years?) Maya practiced the art of sketching on her own, learning from the examples set by the other pieces of artwork around her. She sketched, and she learned, and she became very proud of what she was capable of doing...but she was very aware of the fact that one thing alluded her in all of her artworks: color.

And how was she supposed to master this when she herself was nothing more than a black-and-white drawing? Barely even shaded? She hated to admit it, but she really felt like she was missing out.

Knowing that she couldn't rely on her original creator to color her (And not wanting him to either), she decided to seek out the help of others. She met a wonderful painter who taught her many things about color-theory but refused to color anything other than her own work. She also met a very imaginative man who drew on sidewalks with hand-made chalk. He tried to color her, but they both soon found that his chalk pieces weren't small enough to color a drawing her size...So he drew a replicate of her on the ground to show her what she might have looked like.

Eventually she came upon a something called 'The Coloring Book Club.' It was full of people who loved to draw and color, and of drawings just like her who were waiting to be colored. She decided that this would be the perfect place for her. She could learn more about colors, and maybe experience BEING IN COLOR for the first time in her life. She entered the club, and then..."

And then what happens? (smiley)

So, that's the story of Maya's quest. It's the story of an ambitious and uncolored drawing...just something silly that I came up with.

I'll have to look at this drawing again in the morning to see how I feel about it. I was rather discouraged towards the end, and things tend to go badly for me when that happens. I feel a little better now, though. And if you read all of that? Hug time!
